About the Clinic

About Our Ottawa Chiropractic Clinic

Our clinic has proudly served the Ottawa community for many years, growing from a small neighborhood practice into one of the most trusted chiropractic destinations in the National Capital Region. What began as a mission to bring natural, hands-on pain relief to local families has evolved into a full-service musculoskeletal health clinic treating thousands of patients from Centretown to Kanata, from Orleans to Barrhaven, and everywhere in between.

Every chiropractor on our team is a Doctor of Chiropractic (DC) who has completed a four-year graduate-level program at an accredited Canadian chiropractic college following undergraduate university studies. Each practitioner is registered in good standing with the College of Chiropractors of Ontario (CCO), the provincial regulatory body that governs chiropractic practice in Ontario, and maintains active membership with the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA) and the Ontario Chiropractic Association (OCA). Continuing education is not optional in our clinic — our doctors regularly pursue advanced training in techniques such as Active Release Technique (ART), Graston, Diversified adjusting, Thompson drop-table, instrument-assisted soft-tissue mobilization, medical acupuncture, and functional rehabilitation.

What truly sets our Ottawa chiropractic office apart, however, is not simply credentials on a wall. It is the time we invest in every single patient. We believe that rushed, five-minute adjustments fail the people who need lasting results. When you book with us, your first visit is never squeezed in — we dedicate a full consultation to listening to your story, understanding how your pain affects your daily life, and performing a thorough orthopedic, neurological, and postural examination before we recommend any course of care. If imaging is required, we coordinate with local diagnostic facilities across Ottawa and explain every finding in plain language you can actually understand.

We are bilingual. Ottawa is a proudly bilingual city, and our front desk and clinical team are pleased to serve patients in both English and French. Nos services sont disponibles en français — n'hésitez pas à demander un rendez-vous dans la langue de votre choix.

Why Ottawa Chooses Us

Why Ottawa Families Choose Our Chiropractic Team

Choosing a chiropractor is a significant decision. You are placing your spine, your nervous system, and your quality of life in someone's hands. Here is what makes our clinic different from every other chiropractic office in Ottawa:

01

Licensed, Insured, and Fully Regulated

All of our chiropractors are licensed by the College of Chiropractors of Ontario and carry full professional liability insurance. We are registered providers with most major Canadian extended health insurance plans, including Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life (formerly Great-West Life), Blue Cross, Green Shield, Desjardins, iA Financial, and Equitable Life. We also accept claims from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) for work-related injuries and from motor vehicle accident (MVA) insurers under Ontario's Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule (SABS).

02

Decades of Combined Clinical Experience

Collectively, our practitioners bring decades of hands-on clinical experience to every treatment room. We have helped Ottawa patients recover from everything from simple low back strains to complex post-surgical rehabilitation cases, whiplash injuries from Highway 417 collisions, and chronic conditions that other providers had given up on.

03

Evidence-Based, Research-Driven Care

Chiropractic is not guesswork. Every treatment plan we design is rooted in current peer-reviewed research on spinal biomechanics, pain science, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. We stay current with clinical practice guidelines from bodies such as the Canadian Chiropractic Guideline Initiative (CCGI) and integrate findings from sports medicine, physiotherapy, and orthopedics into our care plans.

04

Transparent Pricing, No Surprise Fees

We believe our patients deserve to know exactly what their care will cost before it begins. Our fee schedule is posted openly, we verify extended health benefits coverage in advance, and we never recommend unnecessary visits or sell high-pressure treatment packages.

05

Same-Week and Emergency Appointments

When you are in acute pain, waiting three weeks is not acceptable. We hold same-day and next-day openings for urgent cases and offer extended weekday and Saturday hours to accommodate Ottawa's busy working professionals and shift workers.

06

A Patient-Centered, Whole-Body Approach

We do not simply crack and release. We educate. We coach. We rehabilitate. Our goal is to get you out of pain quickly and then equip you with the knowledge, exercises, and ergonomic strategies to stay out of pain for good.

Services

Chiropractic Services Offered at Our Ottawa Clinic

Our clinic provides a comprehensive range of chiropractic and complementary musculoskeletal services for patients of all ages — from newborns to seniors. Below is a detailed overview of what we offer and approximate fee ranges. Please note that exact pricing depends on complexity, treatment duration, and whether a new-patient exam is required. Fees shown are approximate — please confirm current pricing when booking.

01

Initial Chiropractic Consultation and Examination

Your first visit is the foundation of everything that follows. We collect a detailed health history, discuss your goals and concerns, and perform a thorough physical examination that includes postural analysis, range-of-motion testing, orthopedic and neurological screening, palpation of the spine and surrounding musculature, and — when clinically indicated — functional movement assessment. If X-rays or other imaging are needed, we refer you to a local Ottawa imaging facility and review the results with you at your follow-up visit.

Approx. Fee$90 – $150
02

Spinal Adjustments and Manipulation

Spinal adjustments — also known as spinal manipulative therapy or SMT — are the cornerstone of chiropractic care. Using precise, controlled thrusts, our chiropractors restore proper joint motion to restricted segments of the spine and extremities, reducing nerve irritation, relieving muscle tension, and allowing your body to return to normal function. We offer a wide range of adjusting techniques to suit every patient, including traditional Diversified adjusting, low-force Activator instrument adjustments, Thompson drop-table technique, Sacro-Occipital Technique (SOT), and gentle mobilization for patients who prefer a lighter touch or have conditions such as osteoporosis.

Per Visit$55 – $85
03

Active Release Technique (ART) and Soft-Tissue Therapy

Muscle and fascia restrictions are often at the root of persistent joint pain. Active Release Technique is a patented, movement-based soft-tissue system that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and nerves. It is particularly effective for conditions such as plantar fasciitis, IT band syndrome, tennis elbow, golfer's elbow, rotator cuff strain, shin splints, and carpal tunnel syndrome.

Per Session$60 – $100
04

Graston Technique and Instrument-Assisted Soft-Tissue Mobilization

The Graston Technique uses specially designed stainless-steel instruments to detect and break down scar tissue, fascial restrictions, and chronic inflammation. It is especially helpful for post-surgical scars, long-standing tendinopathies, and athletic overuse injuries.

Per Session$60 – $95
05

Medical Acupuncture and Dry Needling

Our chiropractors are certified in contemporary medical acupuncture, a Western approach to acupuncture rooted in neurophysiology and musculoskeletal anatomy. Dry needling targets trigger points in tight muscles to release spasm and restore normal function.

Add-On$40 – $80
06

Rehabilitation Exercises and Corrective Care

Adjustments restore motion; exercises restore strength and stability. Our chiropractors prescribe individualized home-exercise programs using proven rehabilitation principles — core stabilization, hip mobility, scapular control, postural retraining, and progressive loading — so that the gains you make in the clinic stick for the long term.

07

Custom Orthotics and Gait Assessment

Foot biomechanics affect the entire kinetic chain. We perform computerized gait scans and cast custom orthotics to correct arch collapse, overpronation, and asymmetrical loading that contribute to knee, hip, and low back pain. Custom orthotics are typically covered in whole or in part by extended health benefits.

Per Pair$450 – $650
08

Prenatal and Pediatric Chiropractic

Pregnancy places enormous demands on the spine and pelvis. Our team is trained in gentle, pregnancy-safe techniques including Webster Technique to support expectant mothers through every trimester. We also offer extremely gentle pediatric care for infants and children experiencing latching difficulties, colic-related discomfort, torticollis, and postural issues that emerge during growth spurts.

Per Visit$55 – $85
09

Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) and WSIB Rehabilitation

If you have been injured in a car accident anywhere in Ottawa — whether on the Queensway, Highway 416, Carling Avenue, or a quiet suburban side street — you are entitled to rehabilitation benefits under Ontario's SABS legislation, regardless of who was at fault. We complete all required forms (OCF-18, OCF-23) on your behalf and coordinate directly with your insurance adjuster. The same applies to workplace injuries covered by the WSIB.

Sports Chiropractic and Performance Care

Whether you are a weekend runner training for Ottawa Race Weekend, a cyclist tackling the Gatineau Park loop, a hockey player in a local rec league, or a competitive CrossFit athlete, our sports-focused chiropractic care helps you recover faster, move more efficiently, and prevent the nagging injuries that sideline so many active Ottawans.

Per Session$60 – $100

A note on pricing: Fees shown are approximate ranges. Exact pricing depends on complexity, visit length, and whether a new-patient exam is required. Please confirm current pricing when booking.

Conditions We Treat

Common Conditions We Treat

Chiropractic care is effective for a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological conditions. Here are the problems we help Ottawa patients overcome every day:

Low Back Pain and Lumbar Disc Issues

Low back pain is the single most common reason Canadians visit a chiropractor. Whether your pain stems from a lifting injury, prolonged sitting at a federal government desk job downtown, a degenerative disc, a facet joint sprain, or a lumbar disc herniation pressing on a nerve root, we offer proven, non-surgical approaches including spinal manipulation, flexion-distraction therapy, core stabilization, and targeted soft-tissue work.

Neck Pain and Cervicogenic Headaches

Ottawa is a city of knowledge workers. Hours spent hunched over laptops on Parliament Hill, in Kanata tech offices, or at home in Barrhaven take a measurable toll on the cervical spine. We treat text neck, tension-pattern headaches originating from the upper cervical joints, stiff neck syndrome, and chronic cervical strain with a combination of gentle mobilization, adjusting, and postural re-education.

Sciatica and Radiating Leg Pain

Sciatica — sharp, burning, or electric pain traveling from the low back down through the buttock and leg — is often caused by nerve compression from a disc bulge, piriformis tightness, or spinal stenosis. Chiropractic care, combined with specific neural mobilization exercises, provides relief for the vast majority of sciatica sufferers without the need for injections or surgery.

Whiplash and Motor Vehicle Accident Injuries

Rear-end collisions on the 417, the Airport Parkway, or at a busy ByWard Market intersection can produce whiplash-associated disorders (WAD) ranging from mild stiffness to debilitating dizziness, jaw pain, and cognitive fog. Early, structured chiropractic rehabilitation produces significantly better long-term outcomes than rest alone.

Headaches and Migraines

Tension headaches, cervicogenic headaches, and certain forms of migraine respond remarkably well to chiropractic care. Research consistently supports spinal manipulation, soft-tissue release of the suboccipital muscles, and trigger-point therapy as effective tools for reducing headache frequency and intensity.

Shoulder Pain, Rotator Cuff Strain, and Frozen Shoulder

We treat impingement syndromes, rotator cuff tendinopathy, acromioclavicular joint dysfunction, and adhesive capsulitis through a combination of joint mobilization, soft-tissue therapy, and graded rehabilitation.

Hip, Knee, Ankle, and Foot Pain

Plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, IT band syndrome, patellofemoral pain, hip bursitis, and labral impingements all benefit from a full-body chiropractic assessment that looks beyond the site of pain to the movement patterns driving the problem.

Carpal Tunnel, Tennis Elbow, and Repetitive Strain

Desk-bound professionals, tradespeople, musicians, and hairstylists across Ottawa suffer disproportionately from upper-extremity repetitive strain. ART, Graston, and targeted adjustments of the wrist, elbow, and cervical spine provide effective relief.

Pregnancy-Related Back and Pelvic Pain

Relaxin-driven ligament laxity, a shifting center of gravity, and postural adaptation make pregnancy a common time for back, pelvic, and sacroiliac pain. Webster Technique and gentle pregnancy-safe adjustments are cornerstones of our prenatal care.

Postural Dysfunction and Scoliosis Management

We cannot cure structural scoliosis, but we can dramatically reduce the pain and functional limitations it causes while slowing progression through specific corrective exercises and adjustments.

Sports Injuries

From hockey shoulder separations to soccer hamstring strains to the ubiquitous runner's knee that afflicts every Rideau Canal jogger, we treat athletes at every level.

How It Works

What to Expect: Our Step-by-Step Patient Process

STEP 01

Book Your Consultation

You can book online in under a minute or call our front desk directly. We will confirm your appointment, verify your extended health benefits coverage, and email you intake forms to complete in advance to save time at your first visit.

STEP 02

Comprehensive Health History and Examination

On your first visit, your chiropractor will sit down with you for a detailed conversation about your pain, your goals, your medical history, and the activities of daily life that matter most to you. A full physical examination follows, including postural screening, range-of-motion measurements, orthopedic and neurological tests, palpation, and — when indicated — functional movement assessment.

STEP 03

Diagnosis and Report of Findings

Once the examination is complete, your chiropractor will explain exactly what is causing your pain in plain, jargon-free language. If imaging is required, we coordinate that before finalizing your plan. You will leave with a clear understanding of your diagnosis, your prognosis, your treatment options, and the realistic timeline for recovery.

STEP 04

Personalized Treatment Plan

No two spines are alike, so no two treatment plans should be either. We design a customized care plan based on the severity of your condition, your lifestyle, and your goals. Most acute conditions respond within four to eight visits; chronic or complex cases may require a longer rehabilitation phase.

STEP 05

Active Treatment and Symptom Relief

This phase is focused on getting you out of pain as quickly as possible. Adjustments, soft-tissue therapy, and early-stage rehabilitation exercises work together to calm inflammation, restore mobility, and reduce nerve irritation.

STEP 06

Corrective and Rehabilitative Care

Once acute symptoms resolve, we shift focus to correcting the underlying dysfunctions that caused the problem in the first place. This phase includes progressive strengthening, mobility work, ergonomic coaching, and postural retraining.

STEP 07

Maintenance and Wellness

Many of our long-term patients choose to return periodically — once a month or once every few months — for a check-up adjustment. Like dental cleanings or vision exams, periodic chiropractic care keeps small problems small before they become big ones.

Local Guide

The Ottawa Lifestyle and Your Spine: A Local Guide

Ottawa is a uniquely rewarding — and uniquely demanding — city to live in when it comes to musculoskeletal health. Understanding the local factors that drive back, neck, and joint pain in our community allows us to give you targeted, city-specific advice that generic chiropractic clinics simply cannot.

Winter & Weather

Winter, Snow, and Ice

Ottawa winters are long and punishing. Between December and April, residents face months of snow shoveling, ice scraping, slippery sidewalks, and heavy winter boots that alter gait mechanics. Snow-shoveling injuries — especially sudden-onset low back strains and shoulder impingements — are among the most common acute complaints we see each January and February. Slip-and-fall injuries from icy driveways and unshoveled sidewalks produce everything from tailbone bruising to full-blown compression fractures.

Our advice: warm up before shoveling, push rather than lift snow when possible, switch hands frequently, use an ergonomic shovel, and invest in quality ice cleats for your boots. And if you do slip — even if the pain seems minor at first — get checked before adhesions and compensations set in.

Workplace

The Federal Government Desk-Job Epidemic

Ottawa has one of the highest concentrations of knowledge workers in Canada. Tens of thousands of residents work in public service offices downtown, at Tunney's Pasture, in the Terrasses de la Chaudière, and in satellite campuses across the city. Add in the booming Kanata North tech corridor and the growing remote-work population, and you have a city of people sitting eight-plus hours a day, often on inadequate home-office setups. The result is an epidemic of forward-head posture, rounded shoulders, thoracic stiffness, and chronic low back pain.

We offer complimentary ergonomic coaching as part of every treatment plan and can provide specific desk-setup recommendations tailored to your workstation.

Outdoor Life

Cycling, Running, and the Outdoor Lifestyle

Ottawans love the outdoors. From the Rideau Canal pathway to Gatineau Park's Parkway loops, from Ottawa Race Weekend to the Winterlude skateway, our residents push their bodies hard. Runner's knee, IT band syndrome, plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, cycling-related neck pain, and ski-season knee injuries are staples of our practice.

Coverage & Benefits

Extended Health Benefits and Coverage in Ontario

Chiropractic care is no longer covered by OHIP (Ontario's public health insurance) for adults, though it remains widely covered by extended health plans offered by federal government benefits (PSHCP), provincial employer plans, and private insurers. We help patients navigate their coverage and can often direct-bill most major insurers, meaning you pay only your co-pay at the time of visit.

WSIB & MVA

WSIB and Motor Vehicle Accident Coverage

Workplace injuries in Ontario are covered by the WSIB, and motor vehicle accident injuries are covered under the Statutory Accident Benefits Schedule regardless of fault. Both programs cover chiropractic care when delivered by a registered provider — which our entire team is.

Language

A Bilingual City

Approximately 37% of Ottawa residents speak both English and French, and many of our patients prefer to receive care in French. Our bilingual team ensures that language is never a barrier to quality health care.

Frequently Asked

Frequently Asked Questions About Chiropractic Care in Ottawa

01Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Chiropractic care, when delivered by a licensed, trained practitioner, is one of the safest forms of musculoskeletal healthcare available. Serious adverse events are extremely rare. Every new patient receives a thorough screening exam before any treatment is performed to identify any contraindications and ensure the safest, most appropriate approach.
02Do I need a doctor's referral to see a chiropractor in Ontario?
No. Chiropractors in Ontario are primary-contact healthcare providers, which means you can book an appointment directly without a referral from your family doctor. Some extended health insurance plans may require a referral for reimbursement, so it is always worth checking your policy.
03Is chiropractic covered by OHIP?
Chiropractic care is no longer covered by OHIP for adults. However, the vast majority of extended health benefit plans — including federal PSHCP, most employer plans, Sun Life, Manulife, Canada Life, Blue Cross, Green Shield, Desjardins, and others — provide chiropractic coverage, typically ranging from $300 to $1,500 per year.
04Do you direct-bill my insurance?
Yes, we direct-bill most major Canadian extended health insurers so that you only pay your portion at the time of visit. We also handle all WSIB and motor vehicle accident billing directly with the insurer.
05How many visits will I need to feel better?
This depends entirely on your condition. Many acute problems — such as a recent low back strain or mild whiplash — respond within four to eight visits. Chronic, long-standing conditions typically require a longer course of care. Your chiropractor will give you a realistic estimate after your initial examination.
06Does the adjustment hurt?
For most patients, adjustments are not painful. Many people describe a sense of immediate relief and improved mobility after an adjustment. Some patients experience mild soreness for 24 hours afterward, similar to what you might feel after a good workout. If you prefer low-force techniques, we offer gentle instrument-based and mobilization approaches.
07What is that popping sound during an adjustment?
The sound — called a cavitation — is simply the release of gas bubbles (primarily nitrogen) from the synovial fluid inside the joint as pressure changes. It is harmless and is not the cracking of bones or cartilage.
08Can I see a chiropractor while I am pregnant?
Absolutely. Chiropractic care during pregnancy is safe, effective, and widely recommended for managing pelvic and low back pain. Our chiropractors are trained in Webster Technique and use specialized pregnancy-safe positioning tools to ensure maximum comfort.
09Is chiropractic safe for children and babies?
Yes. Pediatric chiropractic uses extremely light-force techniques — the pressure applied is no greater than the pressure you would use to test the ripeness of a tomato. We treat infants with latching difficulties and torticollis as well as older children with postural and growth-related concerns.
10Do I need X-rays before treatment?
Not always. X-rays are ordered only when clinically indicated — for example, after significant trauma, when red flags are present, or when structural pathology is suspected. We follow evidence-based imaging guidelines and never order X-rays unnecessarily.
11What should I wear to my appointment?
Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows free movement is ideal. We provide gowns for patients who need them.
12Can chiropractic help with headaches and migraines?
Yes. Research strongly supports spinal manipulation and soft-tissue therapy for tension headaches and cervicogenic headaches, and moderate evidence supports its use for certain migraine sufferers. Many patients experience significant reductions in headache frequency and intensity within a few weeks of care.
13Do you treat motor vehicle accident injuries?
Yes. We regularly treat whiplash and other injuries from motor vehicle collisions and handle all the required paperwork (OCF-18, OCF-23) directly with your insurance company under Ontario's SABS legislation.
14How early should I start care after a car accident?
The sooner the better. Research consistently shows that early intervention — within the first one to two weeks after injury — produces significantly better long-term outcomes than delayed care. Call us as soon as possible after any collision, even if your symptoms seem mild.
15What are your hours, and do you offer evening or weekend appointments?
We offer extended weekday hours and Saturday appointments to accommodate Ottawa's busy professionals and families. Please call us for current hours and availability.
